What is a Heritage Action Zone?

Led by Historic England, Heritage Action Zones (HAZ) are a government-funded programme which seek to unlock the potential of historic areas such as Gosport, creating economic growth and improving quality of life.

Through funding, support and sharing of expertise, Historic England hopes to breathe life into old places, restoring heritage buildings, enhancing conservation areas and celebrating the local character.
